After finishing graduate school, I worked in a corporate job for 12 years. Starting July 2008 I have opted out and am trying out not working.

I absolutely loved my job but the only way to pursue the things I wanted to was to leave the job. And I wanted to do it before I turned 40.

The freedom to travel at a leisurely pace was one strong motivation in my decision to leave the corporate world. In my retirement blog I explore the implications of my sabbatical, and my travel blog is about the different aspects of travel that I am drawn towards.

58. Unfaithful

The movie. Watched it Friday night. Gave it a rating of 7.8. A great theme, could've been handled a little better.

I watched a lot of the special features in the DVD. The director Adrian Lyne was referred to as a master often. There was one piece of commentary by Diane Lane where she muses on the possible causes of the infidelity. She referred to her character not having done her "homework" and also referred to an "inner church." I found that usage very interesting. I must think more about this "inner temple" that resides within most of us.
